JUDO: Armenia to be represented by five judokas at the European Championships in Georgia.

Five Armenian judokas will compete for top spots in Europe at the European Championships between april 23rd to the 27th

Olympians Hovhannes Davtyan and Armen Nazaryan will be joined by Robert Vardanyan, Hakob Arakelyan and Anush Hakobyan for the European Championships in Tbilisi which will take place between April 23rd and will conclude on the 27th.

In the 2008 European Judo Championships in Lisbon, Portugal, Hovhannes Davtyan and Armen Nazaryan both finished in 7th place in the Men's 60 and 66kg weight classes respectively. In the previous European Championships in 2007, Davtyan had won the Silver medal for Armenia in the 60kg category, duplicating Armen Nazaryan's feat from 2006 in Finland. Nazaryan was the Champion of Europe in the 60kg weight category in the 2005 Championships which took place in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

Armen Nazaryan, from Hrazdan, has continually been on the podium in the Men's 60kg category, having also earned the bronze medal in 2004 in Romania, and in 2003 in Dusseldorf, Germany.
