The Armenian national team has earned its' first point in the 2010 World Cup Qualification round, after a late goal by Artur Yedigaryan would bring the hosts even with the visiting Estonians.

Armenia took the lead on the 31st minute with the first goal by the young Armenian striker Henrik Mkhitaryan. The lead would not last long, as five minutes later the Estonians would equalize the score at 1-1. Half way thru the second half, Estonia took the lead on a long counter, as the forward Saag was able to circle around the Armenian keeper Roman Berezovsky and chip in the go-ahead goal for a 2-1 lead.

Just as things looked bleak for the Armenian team, Artur Yedigaryan found himself at the end of a cross from the right side by Gevorg Ghazaryan and headed the ball toward the Estonian net four minutes from full time. The goal was somewhat controversial as the deflected ball off the finger-tips of the keeper was cleared by the Estonian defender after it crossed the line, and the referee pointed to the center of the field signifying the typing-goal.

Armenia has earned its' first point in the qualifying tournament, and will look to add on three more as they travel to Tallinn to face Estonia on Wednesday, April 1st. Please visit us back as we will try to provide a live feed of the game.
